Have You Ever Flown A Drone…Underwater?

Flying drones around in the air is a lot of fun, especially when they have a camera and you can take awesome videos from way up high! But instead of going way up high, have you ever wanted to “fly” a drone way down low…like underwater?

Robosea has just come out with an “unmanned underwater vehicle”; basically a drone that swims instead of flies! It's called the BIKI, and when they put the project up on Kickstarter, they received 10 times more than what they asked for. Apparently, a lot of people want to go underwater with a drone.

The BIKI is controlled with either a smartphone or the waterproof remote, and has a 4k camera (basically that's as nice of a camera that exists right now) to take awesome selfies and video below the water line. It can automatically figure out when it's about to crash into something and dodge around it, and it'll return to where you put it in the water if it loses connection with the remote.

I think one of the coolest things about it is the tail. When you watch the video, you can see how it flaps back and forth, just like a real fish tail! I just hope I don't get whacked in the face with it! 😁
