The FIRST Sunrise in 2 MONTHS in Utqiaġvik, Alaska!

I want to say “Good morning!” to our friends in Utqiaġvik (“ood-CHAD-vig”), Alaska!

And this isn’t just any morning, today is the first day in SIXTY-SIX DAYS that the sun has risen in Utqiaġvik (formerly named Barrow, Alaska) because it is the most northern town in the United States.

When you get that far north on Earth, nights last a really long time in the winter and days last a really long time in the summer. In fact, in the summer, the sun doesn’t set in Utqiaġvik for 66 days either!
