Ruth: Not an Israelite, But In The Family of God
You mostly think about the Israelites being God’s people in the Old Testament, right? But being one of God’s people means something more than just being born into the right family.
The story of Ruth is a perfect example of this, because even though she wasn’t an Israelite, the way she was devoted to her mother-in-law and how she obeyed God brought God’s blessing on her family.
Boaz, one of the other main characters of the story, was an example of the kind of mercy and grace to Ruth and Naomi that Jesus would later be for everyone, everywhere.
