Pray for Your Neighbor

What’s one of the best ways to love your neighbor? It doesn’t take a lot of time or money, and you can do it anywhere. The answer is simple: prayer!

The Bible tells us in James 5:16, “Pray for each other so that you may be healed.” When we pray for our neighbors, we’re inviting God to work in their lives in amazing ways—ways we may not even be able to see. Prayer is powerful because it connects us to God, who loves our neighbors even more than we do.

Sometimes, we might think loving our neighbor means only doing something big, like giving money or helping with a tough task. But prayer reminds us that God is the one who provides strength, comfort, and healing. When we pray, we show love by trusting God to take care of the people around us.

Here’s how you can start praying for your neighbors:

1. Make a list. Think of three people who could use prayer—maybe a family member, a friend, or even someone you don’t know very well. Write their names down.
2. Ask God to bless them. Pray that God would help them, guide them, and show them His love.
3. Keep it up! Pray for them every day this week.

You can also ask God to show you how you can help or encourage those people. Maybe you’ll feel a nudge to send them a kind note or check in on them.
