Jesus Is Risen! Best News Ever on Keys for Kids Radio
Happy Easter!! HE IS RISEN INDEED!!
So what? Whatâs the big deal with Jesus rising from the dead?
So far this week, weâve heard a lot about death. Sin, sacrifice, death! And hereâs the thing with death⌠in every other case in the whole history of humans, death has been final. People donât come back from death.
Until JesusâŚ
Jesusâ return from death (AKA âresurrectionâ) proves that Heâs God! Heâs the one who invented life! Not only that â He IS life!
And when you think about it, if death is the inescapable result of sin, then Jesus not being bound by death also proves that He was totally without sin!
So, Jesusâ resurrection proves a lot of things that He said and that were prophesied throughout the whole Bible.
A fuller explanation and a lot of those Bible references can be found in this video:Â
It also means that, as Godâs adopted children, we can have the life that Jesus offers because weâve been made clean from our sins through his atoning sacrifice for our sins!! We may not come back to life after 3 days like Jesus did, but we have a promise:
1 Corinthians 15:20-23Â
But Christ really has been raised from deathâthe first one of all those who will be raised.
Death comes to people because of what one man did. But now there is resurrection from death because of another man. I mean that in Adam all of us die. And in the same way, in Christ all of us will be made alive again.
But everyone will be raised to life in the right order. Christ was first to be raised. Then, when Christ comes again, those who belong to him will be raised to life.
There is no victory in the history (or future) of the world that compares with Jesusâ victory over sin and death. As 1 Corinthians 15 goes on to say in verses 54-56:
When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:
âDeath is swallowed up in victory.â
âO death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?âThe sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
And THAT is why we celebrate Easter Sunday!
