How To Help The Homeless

Have you ever been in your car and stopped at an intersection with a homeless person asking for help? What do you do? It’s a hard call and takes great wisdom to help rather than hurt.  What does Jesus say?

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

John 13:34-35

With the colder weather upon us, let's find ways to reach out with our families and care for those in need. Collecting and donating blankets, boots, hats, socks, gloves to your local shelter is a good place to start. Click here to find some good advice on the do's and don’t's of helping the homeless in your town.

Another great idea is to put together “homeless kits” in ziplocks to keep in your car that you can pass out as needed. For more information on what to include, click the link here.

No matter the age or resources we can all do something. Let’s be the light that Christ has called us to be this Christmas! We’d love to hear from you what you have done to help the homeless….pictures and comments are great! Have your mom or dad send us a picture of you helping homeless people in your town at [email protected] to be featured online!

Thanks for including Keys for Kids Radio in your Christmas this year! Download the full checklist of all our Fab Family Fun activities here.
