What does HEART mean to ANCIENT ISRAELITES?
Have you heard the verse in the Bible that says “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”? That’s Deuteronomy 6:5.
What do you think it means to love God with all your heart?
Nowadays we think of the heart as where we feel emotions like love or sadness. But in ancient Israel, they thought of the heart as doing a lot more.
Like that’s where you think thoughts, feel the feels, make decisions, and more. That’s what Moses was thinking of when he wrote Deuteronomy 6:5!
