Make Your Own Wordless Book! 📖

All this week we’ve been talking about the “colors” of Easter, based on the “wordless book” way of sharing the Gospel.

Today, we’ll craft our own wordless book that you can use to share the Gospel with your friends and family!

Materials Needed:

  • 5 sheets of construction paper (black, red, white, green, and yellow) or colored cardstock
  • Scissors ✂️
  • Markers or crayons 🖍️
  • A hole puncher (optional) 🔘
  • Ribbon, string, or a binder ring to hold the pages together 🎀
  • Stickers or drawings for decoration (optional) 🎨

Directions:

  1. Cut Your Pages
    • Cut your 5 sheets of construction paper into small, equal-sized pages (about the size of a postcard or 4 x 6 inches).
Tip: If you want to make a mini book, you can fold the paper in half!
  2. Label Each Page
    • Black Page (Sin): On the black paper, write “Sin” at the top. Use markers to draw a heart or a dark cloud on the page.
    • Red Page (Jesus’s Blood): On the red paper, write “Jesus’s Blood”. Draw a cross or a drop of blood to show how Jesus died for us.
    • White Page (Forgiven and Clean): On the white paper, write “Forgiven” or “Clean”. Draw a clean heart or a snowflake to show how Jesus makes us pure.
    • Green Page (Growing in Jesus): On the green paper, write “Growing” or “New Life”. Draw a plant or tree to show how we grow in Jesus.
    • Yellow Page (Heaven): On the yellow paper, write “Heaven”. Draw a street of gold, a crown, or a shining city to represent our future home with Jesus.
  3. Decorate Your Book
    • Use stickers, drawings, or fun designs to make each page colorful and meaningful. You can decorate the borders or the background, but keep the main message clear.
  4. Put Your Book Together
    • Line up the pages in this order: black, red, white, green, and yellow.
    • Punch a hole in the top corner of each page (or use tape to stick the pages together).
    • Thread a piece of ribbon or string through the hole to tie your book together or use a binder ring to keep it secure.
  5. Tell the Story
    • Now you have your very own Wordless Book! 🎉 Use it to help you share the Gospel with others. Here’s how:

How to Use Your Wordless Book to Share the Gospel:

When you share your Wordless Book with a friend, you can explain the meaning of each color one by one:

  1. Black – Sin:
    • “Sin is anything we think, say, or do that goes against God. It makes our hearts dirty, like a dark cloud.”
    • Show the black page and talk about how sin keeps us away from God.
  2. Red – Jesus’s Blood:
    • “Jesus died for us and shed His blood to wash away our sins. He loves us so much!”
    • Show the red page and explain that Jesus’s sacrifice makes us clean.
  3. White – Forgiven and Clean:
    • “When we believe in Jesus, He forgives us and makes our hearts pure, like snow!”
    • Show the white page and explain how Jesus makes us clean and new.
  4. Green – Growing in Jesus:
    • “After we believe in Jesus, we grow in our faith! We learn more about Him, pray, and obey Him every day.”
    • Show the green page and explain how we need to keep growing in our faith.
  5. Yellow Growing in Jesus:
    • “Yellow reminds us of the streets of gold in heaven, because we’ll be with Jesus forever one day!”
    • Show the yellow page and explain how we have eternal life.

Final Tip:

When you’re done sharing the story, ask your friend if they want to believe in Jesus and ask Him to forgive their sins. You can pray with them, thanking Jesus for dying for us and asking Him into their hearts. 💖🙏

Now you’re ready to be a superhero for Jesus and share the Good News with everyone you know! 🌟
