God's Rescue – Best News Ever on Keys for Kids Radio!

We all like a good story. This past week we’ve been talking a lot about God’s story and how it’s the reason we celebrate Easter every year. But here’s the amazing part….God’s story can be your story too! It’s God’s rescue plan for us!

The Scoop

God’s in charge

The Bible tells us that God created everything and it was very good. Because God created it all He makes up the rules.

We Sinned

Right from the start with Adam and Eve we have all messed up and didn’t obey God and His rules. This is called sin and it separates us from God. The punishment for sin is death and eternity apart from God.

God’s Rescue Plan

God loves us and doesn’t want to be separated from us, so He sent Jesus as the perfect fix to our sin problem to rescue us from the punishment we deserve.

Jesus took our sin on Himself and died in our place on the cross! Only Jesus can save us and take our place because He was perfect. And because He was perfect, death couldn’t keep Him and He came back to life three days later.   

Turning and Trusting

So what’s next? 

Turning

It’s hard to admit when we are wrong.  But here’s the deal, we will never be good enough to be right with God.  

“Everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” Romans 3:23

That’s why we all need Jesus to save us because we can’t do it ourselves. Tell God you are sorry for your sin and you want to turn from sin to Jesus.  

“Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.” Acts 3:19

Trusting

Believe that Jesus died and came back alive to pay the price for your sins and change you from the inside out.

“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” Acts 16:31

Trust and believe that Jesus’ rescue plan is true and give Him the rest of your life.

Your Choice

What will you choose? Will you choose to let God be in charge of your life by making Him your Lord?  

“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

When we turn from sin and self we can have new life and salvation by trusting Jesus and believing He did what He said He did.

“For God so loved the world (that’s you) that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

God’s rescue plan pays the price for our sin and gives us new life with Him! It’s the BEST NEWS EVER!
