Playground Games from Kids Around the World

What are some of your favorite games to play on the playground? Tag, obviously, is a classic; Red Rover is a time-honored tradition too.

But have you ever wondered what kids around the world like to play?

In Brazil, kids play “Luta de Galo”, which means “fight of the rooster”. Two players put a handkerchief in their back pockets and try to get the other person’s “rooster tail”.

Or in Nigeria they play a clapping game with four people: the four players do a complicated clapping rhythm with each other and you keep going faster and faster until somebody messes up!
