No Greater Love: Jesus Takes Our Place

Have you ever gotten in trouble for something you did wrong? Maybe you broke something on purpose, said something unkind, or disobeyed your parents. When we do wrong things, the Bible calls that sin.
The Bible says everyone has sinned. That means every person—kids, parents, teachers, everyone—has done things that displease God. Sin separates us from Him.
But God loves us so much that He made a rescue plan.
Jesus, God’s perfect Son, never sinned. He always obeyed God. Yet when Jesus went to the cross, He was treated like a sinner. Why? Because He was taking our place.
The Bible says, “The Lord has laid on Him the sin of us all” (Isaiah 53:6). That means Jesus took the punishment for our sins when He died on the cross.
Imagine someone stepping in and taking the punishment you deserved. That’s what Jesus did—but for the whole world!
The Bible also says, “God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
Jesus didn’t wait for us to be perfect. He loved us even when we were still sinners. On the cross, Jesus paid the price for our sin so we could be forgiven and become God’s children.
That’s why Easter is such good news. Jesus took our place because He loves us with no greater love.

Think About It:
- What are some wrong things the Bible calls sin?
- Why did Jesus die on the cross if He never sinned?
- How does it make you feel knowing Jesus took your place?
Pray:
Dear Jesus,
Thank You for loving me so much that You died on the cross for my sins. I know I do wrong things, and I’m sorry. Thank You for taking my place and paying the price for my sin. Help me trust You and follow You every day. Amen.
