Gingerbread House Hacks

It’s a lot of fun to get sticky making gingerbread houses at Christmas time, but it can be a lot work too. Here are some hacks to help:

  • Make your gingerbread house out of graham crackers instead of gingerbread. You can make them much smaller, and you don’t even have to turn on the oven.
  • Use sugar instead of icing for glue. Icing does keep everything together, but it takes a long time to dry. Simply melt sugar in a pan and use that as glue as it dries quickly. But be careful because it’s hot!
  • Tell the true meaning of Christmas by making a Nativity instead of just a house. Here’s one easy way to do it with Graham Crackers:
  • Use gummies and marshmallows with toothpicks to make animals and people easily. You can even use animal crackers to keep it super simple. Just remember not all the candy has to be on the house.
  • Use leftover candy from your latest Christmas party or even from any harvest celebrations you have around. Have fun figuring out creative ways to make this work and save on the budget.

One last thing, check out this funny video. It’s pretty impressive camera work!
