7-year-old invents STUFFING FLAVORED ketchup!

A seven-year-old boy is set to be a star in the culinary world – after seeing the stuffing-flavour KETCHUP he designed go on sale ahead of Christmas.

Berty came up with the idea of a tomato ketchup flavoured with onions, sage and parsley to give the taste of a festive stuffing.

It also has a sprinkling of breadcrumbs for a touch of classic stuffing texture.

His product, called ‘Berty’s Stuffing Ketchup’, is being sold in a festive red, white, and black bottle, designed to replicate Father Christmas’s iconic coat.

The schoolboy, from Derby, is working with Sauce Shop, an artisan British sauce maker, on the product which will be stocked exclusively on Amazon for £2.99 per bottle.

He said: “It tastes even yummier than I imagined, I can’t wait to have it on my Christmas dinner. It might even convince me to eat all my vegetables.

“I feel super proud of the sauce and can't wait to share it as a gift to all my family this Christmas.”

Proud mum, Angela Stephenson, said: “I am so proud of Berty and how he developed this idea using research, and so confidently conveyed his idea on his entry video.

“The idea was brilliant, and the sauce is really nice.

“His photo shoot was a blast, I had no idea how much he loved the camera and his pride in what he had achieved shone through.”

The limited-edition sauce’s launch followed a nationwide competition which saw children submit their ideas for their perfect Christmas ketchup.

Runners-up included nine-year old Finley’s ‘Rudolph’s Ketchup’, featuring crunchy carrots, hot chillies and juicy tomatoes, nine-year-old Kitty’s ‘Jingly Gingerbread Ketchup’ and seven-year-old Dan’s ‘Reindeer Poop’, which featured a BBQ sauce base with added raisins.
