Your Giant Pile of Candy Needs the Fruit of the Spirit

So if you went trick or treating last night, or maybe trunk or treating, you might be sitting on a big pile of candy right now! And I bet it’s hard to keep from eating all of it at once.
Or maybe you’ve got a candy-hungry brother or sister who’s trying to swipe some of your peanut butter cups!
You know what helps you obey your mom and dad when they say not to eat all your candy at once? That’s called self-control.
And if your siblings are trying to take your favorite pieces when you’re not looking, it might be love and patience that keeps you from fighting and yelling at them!
Those are just three of the fruits of the Spirit, good character traits that God grows in you through the power of the Holy Spirit.
There’s nine fruits of the Spirit we read about in Galatians 5, so can you think of ways all of them could help you today?
Watch the video and read the Bible verses about them:
Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.
