Here is the secret to the 5-Finger Prayer:

• Your Thumb: Pray for the Closest People!
  • Since your thumb is the closest finger to you, it reminds you to pray for the people closest to you, like Mom, Dad, brothers, sisters, and grandparents.
• Your Pointer and Middle Finger: Pray for Your Leaders!
  • The pointer finger reminds you to pray for the people who point you in the right direction, like your teachers and pastors.
  • The tall middle finger reminds you to pray for those in leadership, like your school principal, police officers, and national leaders.
• Your Ring and Pinky Finger: Pray for the Weak and for Yourself!
  • The ring finger is usually the weakest, so it reminds you to pray for people who are weak, sick, poor, or having a really hard time.
  • The pinky finger is the smallest and last, so it reminds you to pray for your own needs after you’ve prayed for everyone else.
