Why Did Samson Tell Delilah His Secret?
Remember Samson in the Bible? God made him really strong so he could save the Israelites from the Philistines. But to keep his super strength, Samson could never cut his hair. He had taken the Nazirite vow, which was a way for an Israelite to say he is willing to be used by God, and a part of that vow is not to cut his hair.Â
But Samson made a mistake. He told his secret to the woman he loved, Delilah, but she didn’t love him. Instead, she gave Samson’s secret to his enemies in exchange for money. When Samson was asleep, they cut his hair, tied him up, and put him in prison.Â
So you can see, even your friends are not perfect and might do bad things, even to you. But remember, God is always there for you when bad things happen. Ask Him for help to love those people and forgive them when they hurt you.
