Where the Earth Reflects the Sky

Have you ever seen how water can reflect the sky?

At the salt flat of Uyuni in Bolivia, it's not water that is reflecting the sky. Instead, a large area covered in salt reflects the sky above.

This enormous salt flat serves as the best way to get across the Bolivian highlands and a great spot for several species of flamingos to raise their young. There's little shrimp that live in the salty water that collects in the salt flat, a tasty snack for the flamingos.

After it rains, a thin layer of dead calm water transforms the flat into the world's largest mirror, 80 miles across!
