St. Patrick's Missionary Adventures

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Do you know the story? I mean the real story of St. Patrick? And it’s not about rainbows, pots of gold, leprechauns, or even wearing green.

St. Patrick was actually a missionary….but first he was a slave. When he was around 16 years old he was kidnapped by pirates and taken to Ireland to be a slave.

While he was there he turned to Jesus. After six years of slavery God told him to return home to England so he escaped. While back in England he studied and learned all he could about God at a monastery. But that’s not the end of the story.

Many years later God asked Patrick to return to Ireland as a missionary to the very people who made him a slave. And he obeyed! God used Patrick to share Jesus with the people of Ireland.

What a great story! If God can use a slave boy He can use you too! Maybe you can start by sharing the real story of St. Patrick today.
