Protect Yourself from the Summer Sun
Summer is just about the best time of the year! Going to the beach, playing outside, and riding bikes are some of my favorite things to do.Â
But you do have to be a little bit careful if you're out in the sun for a long time. Now everybody knows you should put on sunscreen if youâre gonna be outside for a long time, to protect your skin. But one thing you maybe havenât thought about is protecting your eyes from the sun too!Â
Since youâre still growing, your eyes havenât built up the defense you need yet. When you're grown up, it'll be a lot less likely that your eyes will get hurt. Itâs pretty easy to protect them though, you just need a cool pair of sunglasses. My favorite ones are bright green on the outside and then bright orange on the inside.
ââNot my favorite glasses, but still some good ones!ââ
It's most important to wear your sunglasses between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., and then again between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. That's because the sun is a little lower in the sky during those times, and it'll shine right into your eyes a lot more than when the sun is higher in the sky around noon.
