God Has Called Us to be ROYAL PRIESTS

So as we’ve been discovering over the past couple of Saturdays, the idea of being a royal priest is a pretty important one in the Bible. It’s the idea of someone who stands between God and His creation to work out His will.

It used to be priests and kings in the Old Testament, but Jesus became our perfect royal priest when He died and came back to life to take the punishment for our sins. Now He’s given all of His followers the job of being royal priests, like the Apostle Peter wrote in 1 Peter 2: 5 and 9 that we’re a chosen people, a royal priesthood.

So what does it mean to be royal priests? Doing things like singing to God, giving up your time and money to help others, and praying for other people to God are all ways to be royal priests.
