Build and Grow a Bean Teepee!
Have you ever wanted your own private clubhouse? You can build/grow a very unique place just for you using bamboo poles and runner bean plants!
In the backyard, set up the poles in a rough circle about three feet across and angle them so that they cross each other about six inches from the top. Tape and tie them off so they stay together, and push the bottom of the poles into the dirt.
Runner bean plants will grow along a nearby wall or stick, and then grow large green leaves to capture sunlight. When you plant them at the base of the bamboo poles, they'll grow right up on them and create leafy walls for your teepee!
It's best to start this project early in the summer so you can watch the bean plants grow all summer long. Here's a video to show you how to do it:Â
