Back to School: Homework Tips For A New Year!

Did you ever have trouble working on a school project? We all have from time to time.

But there are some tricks that really help and they all are about staying focused! The golden nugget is that school work takes way less time if you focus. I mean, really focus. Less time and a job well done is a win in anyone’s book!

Here are 5 focus tips! Give them a try!

1. DO ONE THING AT A TIME.

This means putting your phone away or any distractions out of the room. Set a timer, with an age specific time, and really buckle down and focus for the whole time. No getting up to go to the bathroom. No snacks. No answering a text. No walking around. No standing on your head. You get the picture. Try focusing 100% for 15 mins at a time and see how much you actually accomplish. I think you’ll be surprised!

2. HEADPHONES.

Headphones are a must especially when working from home. Busy families make a lot of noise so a good pair of headphones per person helps to cancel out the noise around them.

3. GOOD SPACE.

Find a good spot to do your school work. It doesn’t have to be fancy but it shouldn’t be in your bed and you should be sitting up and not laying down.

4. PLAN TO TAKE BREAKS.

Even just a 5 min exercise or “phone” break does wonders to help you focus on your school work

5. CLOCK.

Trying using a real clock instead of relying on the computer or tablet. This gives everyone practice telling time and helps keep distractions down.
