A Penguin Taking a Selfie?

Have you ever heard of an animal taking a selfie before? Some Emperor penguins in Antarctica came across a camera on the ground and flipped it over, trying to figure out what it is – penguins are naturally curious.

They started looking at the camera and posing for it, likely because they saw their reflection on the camera.

From @AusAntarctic Science TV:

“The vision was filmed at the Auster Rookery near Australia’s Mawson research station.

Australian Antarctic expeditioner, Eddie Gault, left the camera on the ice when visiting the rookery, and it didn’t take long for the naturally curious birds to seize the opportunity for a selfie.”
