A Day in the Life of a Fire Rescue Engineer!
Something that I never really thought about before is that there’s more than one job in a fire department. I just think of firefighters spraying water on a burning building, but another important job is the engineer.
That’s the person who drives the fire truck, makes sure it’s working right and that it has all the equipment and water they need.
The South Metro Fire Rescue put out a video following one of their engineers, Marissa Gettman, through her day and what she does.Â
It’s not just fires either, her team goes to help people with medical emergencies, to check out carbon monoxide in a house, and to help take a sick person to the hospital.
