A Children's Orchestra of Instruments Made from Trash?
Have you ever tried making your own instrument from things you have at home? Like taking a paper towel tube and an empty tissue box, putting rubber bands on it and making a guitar.
Well these kids are doing just that. The city of Cateura, Paraguay is built basically on a landfill. A director and music teacher came to the city to teach music, but they didn't have nearly enough instruments.
That is when one of the people made a violin out of some recycled materials from the trash. They liked the instrument so much that they made many more and now there is an orchestra of these instruments that travels around to share their story. Â
