It can be really hard to wake up in the morning, especially when you're really tired and have to go to school.
But how did people wake up before everybody had alarm clocks?
Well, it was actually a paid job! They were called "knocker-uppers."
The "knocker-upper" would get up early in the morning and use a long piece of bamboo to knock on the upper window of people's houses to wake them up to get to work.
