Today is National Cereal Day! Do you eat cereal for breakfast? I really like Cheerios, mostly for a snack. #notanad
I’ve always thought cereal had just always existed, I never thought about life without it. But it really got started way back 1854 with Ferdinand Schumacher, who made some of the first cereal out of oats with a little hand oat grinder.
His company eventually became part of Quaker Oats Company that maybe your family gets oats from!
And you know Kellogg cereals? Dr. John Harvey Kellogg and his brother William got that one started around 1906 in Battle Creek, Michigan.
And also in Battle Creek, another big cereal company got started with Charles W. Post with Grape-Nuts and Post Toasties (those are funny names). Because of them, Battle Creek is named as the Cereal Capital of the World!
What’s your favorite cereal? Do you like to eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack? Call and leave a message: 800-819-5437.
