Have you ever dreamed of becoming an astronaut and exploring new planets? You would discover so many cool things by studying the rocks and the planet. That could happen in the future, but for now, did you know that the best place on Earth to find space rocks to study is actually Antarctica? It seems strange, but Antarctica has some special reasons why you can practice studying other planets there.
Space rocks, or meteorites, fall all over the Earth, but they usually get buried or broken through erosion. When they land in Antarctica, the cold temperatures and dry air keep them from breaking, and the strong winds blow away the ice and snow. The giant ice sheets that make up Antarctica slowly move and crash up against the mountains, and this movement puts all the meteorites in relatively small areas and make them easy to find.
So if you want to go into space one day, Antarctica is not a bad place to practice! You have to be a lot like an astronaut to go there and find them. After all, it takes training and special equipment to stay warm and safe, just like an astronaut!
This video is by a scientist that worked in Antarctica. He mentions evolution; keep in mind that evolution does not agree with what God says in the Bible.
